Coming up in 2020!

Hey gang!

2020 is gearing up to be a pretty active year with the chapter.

In February, we'll be having a jury to help decide the nominees for 2 Divisional Reuben awards.  If you're an NCS member in good standing and want to participate, contact Ed at ed@edsteckley.com.

The chapter will once again be hosting a table at the annual MoCCAfest, April 4 and 5 in NYC.  NCS members in good standing are welcome to sign up for table time.  Come out and sell your wares, shake hands, meet friends and join the party.  Again, contact Ed at ed@edsteckley.com for more details.

We're also gearing up to host a fundraiser to benefit both the NCSFoundation, the chapter, and help some artists sell some work!  Details on that early in Spring.

It's a Bunk Bunk Bunk Bunk World!

It's time again for another
ManhattanNCS Happy Hour!
Join us as we raise a glass to our local pal Tom Bunk and celebrate his 2018 NCS Reuben Award for Magazine Illustration!

 

In addition to being in the cartooning industry since the mid 70s, Tom has been a Mad contributor for close to 30 years.  Since then he's established himself as one of the quintessential Mad artists. His chaotic crowd scenes, gruesome figures and irreverent take on life have been delighting and horrifying not just Mad fans, but cartooning fans worldwide.
Come on out as we celebrate Tom's cartoon legacy at the Overlook Lounge on Monday, July 29!  We have one of the big rooms upstairs reserved, so be sure to RSVP by clicking here so we can give the venue a proper head count.

It's Arnold Roth's 90th birthday party,

and you're invited!

Come on out on Saturday, February 23rd to the Society of Illustrators to celebrate this stalwart figure in the the cartooning community!

Past NCS president, cartoon legend and friend to all Arnold Roth is turning 90,

and you're cordially invited to come out and help him blow out the candles!  
And that's no small feat!

Friends from all over will be joining us,
and food, drink and revelry will be enjoyed by all!

Register now for the ManhattanNCS Holiday Bash!

it's time once again to start gearing up for the annual ManhattanNCS/NCS Holiday Bash! Once again, our big event of the year will be held at the  Society of Illustrators!   This one gets bigger every year, and hopefully this year will top them all! We've got some fun programs and surprises in the works and as always it's a great way to ring in the holiday season- with family and friends in the fantastic setting of Society of Illustrators. We'll reminisce about the past year and turn our gaze to 2019 in the company of family and friends! Here's the info: When: Wednesday, December 5th, 7pm-10pm Where: Society of Illustrators- E. 63rd btwn Park and Lex. How much: $55 for NCS members, $65 for non-members. After December 1, prices go up $5! This is always a really fun event, and I hope you'll come out and celebrate with us! Private Roth Exhibit viewing Monday, Nov 5th in NYC!

Join us on Monday, November 5th for a
PRIVATE VIEWING of a career retrospective on our local pal Arnold Roth at the Century Club!

Arnie has been a fixture in the cartooning scene for decades, influencing artists and art directors worldwide. To celebrate, The Century Association is hosting a gallery exhibit showcasing his lifetime of work- from the early days in Philly to his days here in NYC!

The Century Club has offered to host a private viewing of the show just for us!  Come out and join us next Monday for this special event and private walkthrough of the exhibit!
The gallery will be closed to the public so we can all enjoy the show.

Afterwards, we'll shlep over to a nearby pub and restaurant for dinner and drinks!

Rescheduled! Happy Hour at Jennifer George's!

Seems like forever ago, but since we had a snow day the first time around, it's time to make up for lost time! Jennifer George, Rube Goldberg's granddaughter, is having her annual NCS get together at her place.  It's a night of catered food, booze and lots of art! If you previously purchased a ticket, you're already on the list!  Here's the details: When: Friday, June 16th, 7-9pm Where: Jennifer's place, UWS in NYC, just off of Central Park West.   I'll supply the address upon your RSVP.
